Oscar Pre-Nursery Graduation Performance

As parents, it is heartening to watch your kids graduate from one level moving onto another. We can see the difference he've grown after about 10 months in school. He's a lot more confident about making friends and social interaction where he was a lot more shy at the beginning before he entered school.

On Friday, the school invited parents for the performance that their kids were going to perform. We were excited to see how our boy has grown and it has not dissapoint us.

We'll look back after all these years that this has been one of those moment to remember.

5 Fun Things To Do In Penang With Families

Penang, known as the Pearl of the Orient and the famous touristy part of the Malaysia are no wonder rated as one of the top 10 cities to retire in.

There are not only the local cuisine that they are famous for, but they are a perfect destination gateway for families to have a short but well planned holiday.

From the mouth watering local cuisine food to the artistic UNESCO heritage site, here are the top things to do on your first trip to Penang.

1.) Stay At the Iconic Maritime Suite @ The Persiaran Kapal Singh

This strategically located apartment can fit as much a 6 to 7 persons in a 2 bedroom loft space which oversees the whole sea of Penang straits and activities.

We love it so much that my kids keep reminding me to go back to the place after we stayed 3 nights in it.

2.) Stay At the Golden Sands Resort @ Batu Ferringhi

Run by the well known Shangri-La brand, the Golden Sands Resorts offer families a vacation that you will never forget.

The swimming pools, beaches and the playground are a haven by itself for kids to run and roam around.

3.) Home of The Butterflies @ Entopia

This was one of our trip highlight in this delightful space of the butterflies.

This was not only good education for the kids, but also provide a fun and enriching environment for interaction with nature. This is a suitable activities for both the young and the old.

4.) Cuddle With The Bears @ Teddyville Museum

If you are a fan of bear soft toys, you would love this place to death.

The place appeals not only to kids but also teenagers who likes to read about the history of Penang orchestrated by the thousand of bears in the museum.

Perhaps a cuddle isn't enough, read our adventure here.

5.) Climb Up The Penang Hill @ Batu Bendera

The kids would love the train up, I can guarantee!

The Penang Hill is one of the icons of Penang, with the peak overseeing the entire Penang view at a quick glance.

The weather is almost cooling in an otherwise hot sunny Penang at the time we were there.

Golden Sands Resort by Shangri-La, Penang - Our Family Vacation [Hotel Review]

Penang is definitely one of the hotspot for families vacation and staycation and it is easy to see why our families love it so much.

After our 3 nights stay at The Maritime Suite which is incredibly awesome, we moved on to our final 2 nights at the Golden Sands Resort, which by itself is a luxury destination for families.

Run by the famously known brand, Shangri-La, this beach resort is located conveniently at the strategic side of Batu Ferringhi, and is a piece of heaven for families with children.

The best thing about the facilities of the resort which attracts us is its huge acres of swimming pool spaces which involves pools catered for the adults, children and there are also slides for them to go over and play with.

1..2..3.. Here we go

Splash Zone

After our swimming activities, we have time for relaxation by the couch area where we oversee many activities of parasailing right in front of us. It was a nice sight to behold.

And then of course not forgetting the beautiful beach.....

We didn't do any beach activities for this round because our both our kids are too young so we just walked around the beach in the evening enjoying the breeze air.

The Sigi's Bar and Grill next to the pool is also convenient for people who wants a sip of coconut or beer or some bites while they are having their activities in the pool.

We managed to try their signature BBQ buffet on one of the days. They have different themes for different days of the week but I was told their Seafood spread on Saturday was one of the best in town.

The other thing I love about the place is its close proximity to a nearby Long Beach hawker center which you can reach by foot in 5 minutes.

At one of our dinner days, we went there by foot and ordered a massive tons of delicious local cuisine such as the prawn noodles, fish seafood, and bah kut teh to our delight which was very reasonably cheap.

It's a very popular area within the tourists especially on weekends so you may want to get in early.

So that is that with this episode of our hotel review, we enjoyed it as much and will be back again sometime in the future.
