Taiwan 2018 Travelogue - Day 9 to 13 Yehliu Geopark + Jiufen + Taipei 101 + Ximending + Shilin Night Market

We spent the last 4 days in Taipei which I booked an Airbnb for us to stay since we wanted somewhere that is convenient and near to Ximending area.

The place is rather cramped but I thought it is quite comfortable for us.

There are also incredibly many good food nearby some of those including the famous Fuhong beef noodle, the number 1 best Taiyangping in Taiwan and the cuttlefish noodle just down the stairs. There is also 7-eleven right below the apartment.

Airbnb for 4 nights in Taipei Ximending
We didn't spend a lot of attraction visiting in Taipei as we had enough during our island round-trip before coming to Taipei and many were exhausted. So we simply chill around and look for some snacks to bite and eat.

Nevertheless, we visited a few of them.

One of them is the Yehliu Geopark which is home to a number of unique geological formations of stones including the "Queen's Head" and is located along a cape stretching out from the town of Wanli.

Besides the "Queen's Head", the other remarkable formations also features "Sea Candles", "Kissing Rock" and the "Princess Head".

After visiting the Geopark, we were famished and we headed straight to Jiufen where the old streets were selling plenty of delicacies and bites we could very much welcome.

Apart from the above, we also visited Taipei 101 attraction in a separate day, which the ticket I booked through Klook which was fast, convenient and also cheaper than buying onsite.

And also last but not least, we'll leave the memory of Ximending with us, which we really have a great time walking everyday all day long.

Taiwan 2018 Travelogue - Day 4 Sunmoon Lake + Aboriginal Culture Village

We look forward to this day because we know we were heading towards the famous Sunmoon Lake 日月潭 and the sky is bright.

This helps to boost our energy level and the forward looking feeling tremendously.

We bought a ticket ferry which would enable us to move from one island point to another. Each ferry took about 15 min each and there were 3 stops along the way.

By the time we reached one of the station, we were famished and so we ordered the famous Ah Mah egg which was selling like a hot cake.

We heard from our driver guide that they sell 20,000 eggs in a day and counting and do not have to pay rent and taxes to the government (there is a long story here).

We were strolling around in our own leisure and pace and were enjoying the fruits we bought while viewing the scenery.

This is the beauty of private travel where we get to enjoy at our own pace.

After about an hour, we returned to the original station and the driver is ready to take us into the Aboriginal Cultural Village, which we had to go in via a cable car.

With Magnificent Views

We spent the next 4 hours and the rest of the day in the village.

Turns out the place is 100x better than my expectations and I was glad that we went and made it inside.

There were many historical sites, cultural stories, beautiful cherry blossom, amusement park and the amazing European garden.

We took so many photos inside in our leisure walk from the start to the finish.

Leisure Walking

Once we are done, we headed to the nearby minsu we booked.

It was called Moon B&B and was located in a strategic location near all the activities surrounding the night market.

The owner was very kind and we really loved the minsu very much. The only drawback is that it doesnt have a warmer at night and we were feeling very cold.

Really heart this minsu

Beautiful entrance

Some hot tea to warm perhaps

Breakfast

Really homely food

Soya milk and milk tea

Best moment for me
Missing this minsu already :(
